What to expect

Step 2: Assessments

After the initial meeting, the prospective student will undertake various assessments to help SLD Read staff determine the student’s strengths and weaknesses in reading, writing and spelling.  After testing, results are reviewed with the student and/or parent/guardian.

Step 3: Tutoring

Students who qualify for SLD Read’s services can participate in our individualized, 1:1, multi-sensory instruction in reading, writing and spelling.  Tutored students will be taught at least twice weekly for 45-60 minutes per session.  Additionally, students receive written progress reports monthly and are re-assessed every 50 lessons.
