Elizabeth's Story
A Kalamazoo Public Schools student’s journey began where many young readers’ stories start: diagnosed with dyslexia at eight years old, Elizabeth struggled with literacy.
Abbie's Story
Abbie’s story started at 7 years old; diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD, Abbie was working hard to keep up with her peers at school. She was great at math but her reading and spelling skills were falling behind everyone else.
Ava's Story
Ava's journey with dyslexia began in middle school. Struggling to read at a 3rd-grade level by the 6th grade, her dream of becoming an environmental lawyer felt out of reach. That changed when she came to SLD Read. With the support of her tutor and a personalized learning plan, Ava not only caught up—she soared. Today, she's studying Environmental Law at the College of Wooster and made the Dean’s List her very first semester
O'honna's Story
Despite struggling with it, O'honna desperately wanted to read – navigating books and stories was her dream.
Allison's Story
Allison’s journey with dyslexia began at age 10. Like many families, hers searched tirelessly for ways to help her stay on track in school. That changed when Allison came to SLD Read. Now, 15 years later, Allison is graduating from nursing school, a dream she has worked tirelessly to achieve.
